What happens when architect removes almost everything from your home and gives you minimalist apartment with only what is essential for day to day living + a small twist? Take a look!

Filip Deslee, a co-founder of Belgium-based design agency Loft4c, created a splendid minimalist apartment in Mortsel, Belgium. Pursuing the agency’s mission to create pure interiors with a twist, Apartment 1418 features a remarkable color scheme, perfect material selection and cleverly planned furniture placement. It is one of those gorgeous modern homes that can teach us a lot about how to declutter a living space through minimalism and its design principles.

In its essence, minimalist design lacks lavish details typical in other styles, therefore the simplicity must be thoroughly planned to avoid empty and cold look. Ultimately, minimalist apartments for rent in Greensboro truly thrive when every element serves its function elegantly. To achieve this, Deslee decided on simple monochrome palette as a decor base and stunning red Gerrit T. Rietveld’s 637 Utrecht armchairs as a focal point. Consequently, this resulted in decluttered, pure, sleek design with a little bit of twist.

According to Deslee, “to achieve its purpose, minimalist interior should not only be beautiful to look at but also fun to live in.” As such, Apartment 1418 could be simply described as a minimal interior for maximal living experience.

KEY TAKEAWAY

When it comes to modern living spaces, removing things doesn’t have to mean removing comfort. This minimalist apartment shows how combination of monochromatic color palette and “less is more” principle results in interior that is beautiful to look at but also fun to live in.

Let’s take a walk through this lovely minimalist apartment and highlight a few creative solutions Filip Deslee delivered for the client.

Black and white living room decor with a twist

This simple design started with a strong colors: a scheme of black, white, and red. Deslee planned to use red as a focal point and surrounded it with neutral materials to avoid overpowering the sparse pops of color, which bring energy and liveliness to the space. Cozy fireplace also demands attention due to its generous square footage and stark black coloring among white walls and lovely hardwood. Custom backlighting highlights artwork and replaces the light lost to this monument. The oval coffee table and area rug subtly define the living room of this minimalist apartment, and are flanked by a black sofa and two bright accent chairs, precisely Gerrit T. Rietveld’s 637 Utrecht armchairs.

HERE’S A TIP:

Black and white (monochrome) interior visually simplifies and declutters interior. When combined with one or two colorful details, it frames truly sophisticated and elegant modern interior design. That could be a chair, a piece of art, maybe sofa or coffee table.

Minimalist apartment design based on monochrome decor

No minimalist apartment is complete without a sleek bank of kitchen cabinets. The lack of knobs and drawer pulls eliminates visual clutter and the juxtaposition of white cabinets with black countertops adds interest without disorder. A feature wall separates the living space from the kitchen. Whitewashed, reclaimed wood surrounds the functional divider, while maintaining an effortless beauty. This allows more workspace within the kitchen as well. Fresh plants and unique light fixtures throughout the apartment add character and ensure the space feels inviting.

This minimalist apartment is not lacking function, alongside the public spaces sits a bedroom and a workspace. The full-length custom shelving placed in office space provides plenty of storage space for books, resources and display of sentimental items. The built-in desk sports a black paint job, while the rest of the office is bright white. Large windows allow stimulating sunlight to flood the space.

This incredible modern forest house is designed not just to provide shelter, but also to allow the surrounding nature to extend from exterior to interior and create calm and relaxing home atmosphere centered around indoor/outdoor living. Take a look how!

Nestled among the giant trees, Villa Zhukovka is one of the latest modern homes that came off the drawing board of Moscow-based architect Alexandra Fedorova. Characterized by the bureau’s recognizable, award-winning timeless design, this modern forest house celebrates underrated connection of living environment with the nature.

While society built cities to offer everything needed for modern living, intact forest environment has its own advantages, the ones that might be even more beneficial for stressful 21st century lifestyle. Not only living areas are more comfortable during hot summer months, but with trees all around, houses in the forest enjoy more privacy as well. Additionally, dynamic and ever changing face of the nature through seasons turns out to be excellent focal point for interiors, especially contemporary style ones, characterised with large expanses of glass used as exterior walls.

Villa Zhukovka perfectly demonstrates this with large sliding glass doors and windows that open out onto the garden and towards the forest. Furthermore, plenty of outdoor living space surrounding this house in the forest essentially converts forest into a second living room, allowing residents to come home into a truly relaxing and peaceful environment. At the same time, inside, stunning double height dining room with a full-height windows which is designed to create a sense of spaciousness and establish a dialogue with the forest. What is more, open concept floor plan and elegant minimalist color scheme make interiors bright and airy.

KEY TAKEAWAY

The elegance and simplicity of modern architecture married with calmness of the forest can result in stunning forest home – a medicine for a stressful lifestyle in 21st century.

Let’s walk through this beautiful modern forest house and see what kind of solutions and ideas Alexandra and her team composed for this project.

Clever use of forest property

On a square shaped property, 3 pavilions of this forest house are carefully sited to take advantage of the sun and tree shades’ movement throughout the day. The largest pavilion is a 2-level residential area situated In the front portion of the property. Second pavilion, slightly distanced from the house yet physically connected to it, hosts garage. The connection component which is made out of reinforced concrete, besides adding visual attractiveness to facade, covers the access path to main entrance and shelters it during bad weather. The path is also lit up at night. In the rear, following the longitudinal development axis, smallest of 3 volumes houses indoor swimming pool. Residential area is connected with indoor swimming pool through elegant glass walled hallway that overlooks central courtyard.

HERE’S A TIP:

Take advantage of daylight. House positioned relative to the sun’s movement is one of the most important elements during initial phases of planning.

Modern forest house facade altered to surrounding forest

Front facade of this beautiful forest home, besides main entrance, has no openings, providing privacy from the street. To give it modern appearance, exterior is defined by the sharp straight lines. Additionally, ground floor walls feature earthy dark brown tones, harmonizing the house with the forest. Modern feel is emphasized on the upper floor with contrasting, clean white color. Facade also marks extensive use of glass in order to transmit as much of daylight into interior as possible. Moreover, it allows maximum visibility of forest scenery from almost every room in the house. Operable glass walls also make sure the house is well ventilated during warmer months.

Outdoor living space – a living room in the nature

Operable Glass walls play particularly important role on the ground floor where they are used to join interior with terraces and central courtyard. In a location like this, it would be unfortunate not to use every opportunity to create outdoor living spaces, which is why this amazing forest house takes advantage of sizeable balconies and terraces. To maximise their use, architects partially covered main terrace by using the balcony above in order to shade interiors from direct sun during summer days. To connect all pavilions and outdoor living areas, pathways spread through the central courtyard.

Multiple benefits of white color in interior

Modern earthy color palette continues from exterior into interior. Dominant white color is used throughout the home to reflect daylight and make interiors bright, as well as make them feel modern and sophisticated. Just imagine magical atmosphere created during winter months when, due to extensive use of floor to ceiling glass walls, white color of interiors merges with snowy forest scenery outside. Blurring the boundary between inside and outside must be one of the most rewarding features of modern homes and this incredible forest home unveils exactly how to do it. However, to respect earthy color palette seen on the exterior and in need for a few focal points, some elements of the interior are highlighted in the contrasting dark brown color.

HERE’S A TIP:

Since white color reflects light instead of absorbing it, white is perfect color for interiors with limited daylight access.

Open concept floor plan and gorgeous double height dining room

Additionally to dominant white color of interiors, architects carried out open floor plan in order to allow daylight to reach even the farthest part of this forest house. On the ground floor, public areas like centrally positioned double height dining room, living room and kitchen are blended into one continuous space. Most notable element of this area is modern two-sided fireplace built inside the wall which visually separates living room and dining room. Fireplace is ingeniously designed to serve both rooms at the same time.

Minimalist chandeliers suspended from double height ceiling as well as the abstract art are used to enhance modern design in dining room. Second floor houses private areas like bedrooms, bathrooms and home office. Minimalist staircase, using the same color palette, links public areas upstairs and private areas downstairs. Bathroom, as the most private area of the house, features the dark palette with distinctive black marble in order to assign luxury, elegant appearance while making contrast to rest of the house.

Minimalist house is often the foundation of minimalist living. While some people like to apply minimalism only to certain parts of their lives, some people are ready to fully embrace it. Take a look!

“House Between The Pine Forest”, as it’s officially named, is a stunning minimalist house located in Paterna, a municipality in the province of Valencia, Spain. Coming off the drawing boards of Fran Silvestre Architects, modern minimalist design aims to give a new and even identity to a house belonging to the same family for several generations.

Since the original residence was formed by the aggregation of different interventions at different times, with different construction systems, architects proposed a new, some might even say extreme approach in presenting the existing structure, spaces, uses, garden and memories. Inspired by the Japanese minimalist architecture, this impressive house features minimalist architecture elements on every inch of its structure, making it de facto the definition of modern living.

“The concept of minimalist architecture is to strip everything down to its essential quality and achieve simplicity. The idea is not completely without ornamentation, but that all parts, details, and joinery are considered as reduced to a stage where no one can remove anything further to improve the design.”

KEY TAKEAWAY

Minimalist homes and minimalist living in general is a perfect way to declutter our lives. Minimalist house forces us to narrow down our possessions to only what is necessary in order to be able to focus more on non-material things like experiences and relationships.

Minimalist house design in white

According to the architects; “twenty-one plateaus and seven volumes tell the story of this house”. Two storey house design is fulfilled with a large backyard and pine tree forest that surrounds the property. Minimalist facade is defined by the combination of white concrete and frameless exterior glass walls which distribute daylight to every corner of this minimalist house. Special effect is achieved with facade lighting which, after sundown, turns this home into a true forest fairytale. Take a look at their another home built on the cliffs of Valencia as well!

White color is considered to be epitome of cleanliness, modernity and elegance. It is pure. In color psychology white is the color of new beginnings, of wiping the slate clean, which makes it the primary color choice for many minimalist house designs.

White stone plateaus as part of path design

Being located in the forest, project required some sort of a walkway to lead the visitors safely to the entrance. By choosing the large white stone plateaus as a part of the path design, architects maintained minimalist feel while attaining the main purpose. White stone plateau also outlines this minimalist house and connects outdoor living areas in the backyard, like swimming pool, with the house.

Swimming pool maximalism

Speaking of swimming pools, while minimalist living is the main theme of this project, owners wanted to go full out on pools with one being located in the backyard and one inside the house. Backyard pool design blends well with the house design and surrounding pine forest gives its residents a nice level of privacy.

Indoor swimming pool is located in an enclosed area separated from the main house while being connected to it with the hallway indoors and patio outdoors. Indoor swimming pool area is bright and well lit, as a result of using exterior glass walls in combination with minimalist interior design.

Pure minimalist interior

The best word to describe interior of this minimalist house would be; pure. White color completely dominates the space with an occasional glimpse of nature texture from the surrounding pine forest visible through the glass walls. The simplicity of living is presented on every step. Even though many will find it extreme, this minimalist interior appears calm, organized and warm.

2 tone minimalist living room

Living room is the only room in the house that broke the “everything white” rule. Wooden panels brought the piece of pine forest atmosphere inside, but in no way compromising the minimalist living room decor. Modern living room furniture in earthy, neutral colors added elegance while single black leather chair is placed at the entrance as a focal point. Special touch is given by the setting sun every day, when for a few seconds it appears on the floor and walls. White living room design might not be everyone’s first choice, but this minimalist house is a great example how, when done right, it can become comfortable living space.

Minimalist kitchen as the bedrock of minimalist living

All white kitchen in this house is probably the most impressive example of minimalist kitchen design we’ve seen in a long time, considering the kitchens usually are the most cluttered living spaces. With barely anything else visible than a few modern appliances and white cabinets with lots of hidden storage space, it is a prime example of minimalist living where full countertops and unnecessary dishes are simply not welcome.

Irony in the minimalist house home office

Even home office wasn’t excluded from truly minimalist home decor. Dark modern office desk in the middle of a room and a single window was all that the owner needed to conduct his business. Ironically, architects decided to frame this minimalist home office with an extensive use of shelving that span from floor to the ceiling.

All white bedroom and bathroom

Small working desk and a few minimalist shelves were also part of the all white bedroom where minimalist bedroom design perfectly captures modernist philosophy – “form follows function” by removing everything besides bed. Sliding glass walls were used to light up the interior as well as to make the nature a focal point during waking up. At the end, that’s all this minimalist house is about – replacing material things with experiences and memories.

List of best exterior house design ideas is here! Take a look at the world’s most beautiful modern homes and find inspiration in award-winning design.

If you are looking to step up your home’s curb appeal game, then you have come to the right place. While most people often focus more on the interior decor and design, these homes are as beautiful outside as they are inside. Elegant, stylish, and functional, these snazzy exterior house design and facade ideas will simply knock your sock off.

In today’s homes — whether traditional, modern or contemporary — exterior house design plays a critical role. It allows homeowners to not only make a killer first impression but also enhance the beauty of their outdoor spaces and add value to their homes. Besides, curb appeal is perhaps the single most crucial factor when it comes to selling your house.

With that said, there are a ton of great ideas around the world on how to spruce up the exteriors of your home. To get the home you envision, however, you often need to bring together the better of the two world of house facades — beauty and function. The good news is that facades, regardless of the material make, can have functional elements as well as decorative.

Even better, when it comes to exterior house design, you have plenty of options for materials. Wooden facades, for one, have gained increased traction in the past few decades because of their natural appeal. They can come in handy if you’re looking to create large structural “blinds” which can protect your home from direct sun, especially if you live in areas that receive lots of sunlight. Glass, on its side, also comes with lots of decorative and functional benefits. That’s why it’s usually used to give a home a modern look and feel as well as blur the lines between indoors and outdoors. Commercially talking, industrial design architects often use exposed concrete.

Check out these ideas to draw some inspiration for your next exterior house design project.

Modern exterior of a beautiful Mediterranean dream home

Villa CView is luxury dream home built on the cliffs of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat in French Riviera. Besides stunning views and modern interiors, this home offers beautiful modern exterior design as well. Huge glass panels are used to make breathtaking views home’s best feature while general structure of the house is made of simple painted concrete. This residence is specially beautiful at night with decorative facade lighting stealing all the attention. Feel free to check out rest of the house!

2 layer exterior facade

Tresarca house is good example how exterior facades have more than one purpose. When house is built in harsh environment, clever solutions are used to create comfort and security. Architects from assemblageSTUDIO used mesh screen to create protection from the harsh sun for the interior living space and gave this modern house an unique look.

Exterior house design of one of the most beautiful houses in the world

House M designed by monovolume architecture + design is (to me) one of the most beautiful houses I’ve seen so far. Simplicity in combination of large glass panels and white concrete is everything one needs in his modern home. Sometimes less indeed is more. Make sure you check out interiors of this home since they are stunning!

Exterior facade materials

SAOTA is well known for creating architectural masterpieces. This contemporary house is no different. Facade, even though it’s mostly open, showcases combination of many materials “working” together in defining this house. From stone walls on the ground floor, exposed concrete on upper floors, wooden shades to glass terrace railings and sliding panoramic doors, exterior facade materials here are top notch!

Wooden facade for intimacy and coziness

Another beautiful modern home by SAOTA with interesting exterior design. When client initially came to SAOTA, they wanted a relaxing, yet elegant home that would also be comfortable. Solution: glass walls covered with sliding timber panels.

Simple exterior design defined by minimalism

When it comes to minimalism, you either love it or hate it. Same applies to this stunning modern home located on the hills of Valencia. Its simple exterior design and minimalist interior are definitely work of art.

Combination of traditional modern facade

House renovations are great opportunities for architects to take on a challenge of connecting modern with traditional. Escobar residence renovation is one of those projects. While from the street this seems to be traditional Tudor house, in the backyard facade extends into beautiful modern addition enclosed with glass curtain wall and skylights.

Modern front facade design combined with modern landscaping

QL House is incredible modern home built in Portugal. The main idea was to connect interior living spaces with exterior and Visioarq architects did it perfectly. Modern front facade, which is impressive already by itself, was visually fulfilled with modern landscaping. Entering this home must be beautiful experience. Here’s how architects described this amazing home: “The QL House project was an exercise in balancing spaces and landscape integration. The articulation of two overlapping and perpendicular spaces generated not only a particular spacial dynamic, but also different visual relations between full and empty, light and dark – caused by the dynamic of shadows – between private areas, semi-private areas and the view of the surrounding landscape.

Front facade design fulfilled with facade lighting

Modern Double Bay residence designed by SAOTA is one of the best examples how house exterior, especially front facade, can be modern feature for itself with just a little bit of creative lighting. Lights are welcoming visitors already at the main gate and follow them through the pathway all the way to the entrance. Lighting up the trees that surround the house is another great touch which adds to the overall atmosphere.

Simple house design with sliding exterior glass walls

Sliding exterior glass walls are probably the most recognized features of modern homes. Glasshouse designed by Sarah Waller is perfect example of simplicity that is achieved through placing the frameless floor-to-ceiling glass walls all around the house. Not only the house is well lit, but also offers its residents unique opportunity to blend interior living space with their patio and huge backyard.

Home’s exterior design fulfilled with tropic vegetation

Secret Garden house designed by Wallflower Architecture + Design is perfect example how vegetation that surrounds the house, can have big impact on the home’s exterior design. As seen already from the street, greenery welcomes visitors at the “granite cave” entrance on top of which is placed decorative pond. Home’s exterior design also features large glazed walls, adjustable vertical timber louvers and stone panels as part of the facade. Probably the best spot to enjoy all this vegetation that surrounds the mansion is on the roof terrace where owners might feel like they are in the forest instead of in their home.

Modern house exterior defined by the rule “less is more”

CH House designed by Sachar – Rozenfeld Architects is one of those houses that will catch your attention with its simplicity. This modern house exterior appears closed from the street to secure privacy but open in the backyard side where incredible patio with swimming pool is located. Architects kept color scheme minimal, with monochrome base and a few neat details like timber on the roof structure or glass railing on the balconies. Just as the interiors, modern house exterior is great representation of what modern design is.

Exterior house design defined by German elegance

We all know what Germany and German architects mean for modern architecture and design. SU House designed by Alexander Brenner is perfect example of elegance and sophistication. While exterior house design stays self-effacing on the front, the backyard elevation simply shows all its glory. While glass is used to maximize daylight flow, horizontal and vertical concrete areas protect interiors from direct sun. Special atmosphere is created at night when facade gets illuminated, presenting the house and its exterior design as a true masterpiece.

Simple house design might sound boring and bland but this gorgeous modern home will prove it wrong. Take a look how she managed to create perfect home for minimalist lifestyle!

Minimalist Monochrome Glasshouse is a simple yet very stunning modern house designed by Sarah Waller. The house was built for her and her family after they decided to move in Australia. Sarah’s primary goal was to design and build aesthetically pleasing and at the same time functional, simple home. She found a way to build a perfect residence which exudes the power of simplicity, sophistication and overall atmosphere of mid-century modern architecture.

By placing unadorned windows, along with using natural colour palette and reflective surfaces Sarah created simple modern exterior and combined it with minimalist interior design to accomplish relaxed and decluttered living atmosphere.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Minimalist Monochrome Glasshouse is an excellent example of how to use a simple home design together with a minimalist interior design & monochrome colours in order to achieve a beautiful, carefree and decluttered living space.

Single storey house design

Simplicity has been reached already in initial house planning where it is defined that the residence will be one storey house. Single storey house design is great when one has access to large land, like in this case – 6000 square meters. Furthermore, particularly this modern single story home design is inspired by the post war modern housing architecture; Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House and the Phillip Johnson Glasshouse, according to the architect Sarah.

„The brief was to design a family home that can also function as showcase for my architectural business. My inspiration was the post war housing Architecture: Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House and the Philip Johnson Glasshouse.“

Similarly, the Glass Pavilion designed by Steve Hermann – described as “the most minimalist house designed” has been also inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Glass House, take a look.

Modern minimalist interior design

Every inch of this modern house is inspired with modern minimalist interior design – from modern black & white kitchen to black & white bathroom. Monochrome colours are frequently used when it comes to minimalist house interior design as they contribute a lot in the process of achieving simple, relaxed atmosphere.

Another example of modern minimalist style can be seen from this apartment with black and white interior design – The “Contemporary Interior Box”, where combination of white & black colours with wood created remarkably distinctive apartment from any other.

Open concept floor plan

Another indispensable characteristic of modern design is open concept floor plan. Not only it creates great connection of all spaces inside the house but it also makes it seem more spacious. In this project we have the example which especially stands out – the open floor plan kitchen surrounded by sliding exterior glass walls and great connection to the living room and rest of the house.

Modern black and white kitchen

Modern black and white kitchen is a great example of how it is possible to design remarkable kitchen while using only 2 contrasting colours – black & white. By doing so one ends up with minimalistic area which not only looks good but it is also functional. In order to shatter a bit black and white colour scheme, Sarah used a large wooden dining table and made it a focal point of the whole kitchen interior. Not to mention it looks perfect on the white kitchen floor.

Another example of eye-catching black and white kitchen decorating idea can be seen in example of CH House, take a look!

Black and White Bathroom and Outdoor Bath

Black & white colours were the number 1 choice when it comes to the bathroom as well. In order to pop just a bit of colour, green plants were added. In addition to the black and white bathroom in the house, there is an outdoor bath with an outdoor shower which comes in really handy on properties in areas where the climate is warmer.

Sliding Exterior Glass Walls As An Inevitable Part of Simple House Design

Simple house design is especially expressed thanks to the exterior glass walls. Sliding glass walls are great for many reasons – first, they enable the daylight into the modern interior and second, when open they offer the possibility of connection between interior and exterior.

Swimming Pool Garden Design

Last but not least, probably the most relaxing part of this simple home is its backyard with modern swimming pool deck and spacious grassy garden where one can relax on hammock and admire the palms.

„Taking style cues from the Modernist Palm Springs pools popular during the ’50s, a similar look is evoked with a streamlined resort style linear pool, offset with a chic cabana furnished with casual pieces ideal for relaxing and soaking up the sweeping views.“

When architects design such a beautiful and yet simple modern home, it’s hard not to be amazed by the all modern features it offers. From floating stair design, open concept floor plan, stunning black and white kitchen to gorgeous modern exterior design. Take a look!

CH House is a beautiful home that takes advantage of the combination of functionality and beauty of floating stairs to exude an air of modern appeal. Designed by the renowned architects Shachar – Rozenfeld Architects, CH House is an epitome of a modern abode that brings together timeless decor, modern structures, and beautiful finishes.

This snazzy home stands on a 600 square foot lot and is designed in an intriguing L shape. Besides the fabulous floating stairs that add elegance, style, and model appeal to the whole setup, CH House also comes complete with a modern black & white kitchen with the latest fixtures, amazing cabinetry, and welcoming ambiance. It is, however, the simple modern house design — the open floor plan style — that makes this house stand out, and feel and look contemporary.

With a sizeable pool in the backyard, a well-kept sitting area, and a granite-tile facade, CH House exteriors will knock your socks off.

Floating stairs are a picture-perfect solution for modern homes with open floor plan interiors. They add both aesthetic intrigue and functionality to the design, allowing for a seamless flow from one level of a home to another.

Every level in CH House has its own allure, with amazing views of the swimming pool in the backyard and surrounding landscapes. When it comes to the interiors, the ingenious architects infused the floating stairs in a way that they bring out the decor, accentuate the open floor plan style, and imposing walls. The floating stairs are also a great focal point for the interior, giving it a modern look and feel. Best of all, these snazzy stairs don’t take up much space.

Another stand-out feature of this simple yet modern house is the contemporary black and white kitchen. Sleek, classy, and eye-catching, the black and white theme in the modern kitchen marries well with the black steel floating stairs. It’s no wonder the black and white kitchens have gained traction in the past few years.

Take a look how already impressive modern front facade design can become even more beautiful when combined with modern landscaping. Stunning!

QL House is a stylish and beautiful architectural masterpiece designed by the renowned architects, Visioarq of Portugal. Nestled in an essentially leafy residential neighbourhood in Algarve, the home is an embodiment of how unique front facade design can be utilized to not only spruce up the aesthetics of a modern house but also coalesce the indoor living spaces and the outdoors.

The architects brought together a subtle balance in spaces, creating a beautiful overlap as well as the intriguing spatial dynamic between the indoors and the outdoors. And the integration of the surrounding landscape offers outstanding scenic views and exclusive access to semi-private areas. With the neighbourhood dotted with an estuary, golf courses, beautiful residential houses, and affronted by the imposing Atlantic Ocean, the facade is dead right on-point.

This attractive, modern home is a prime example of how front facade design when combined with modern landscaping, can form a fantastic rapport between indoor living spaces and the outdoors as well as between the user and created space. If married well together, the two marvels of modern architecture can immerse the house in the beauty of surrounding landscape, offering effortless ventilation, improved lighting, and breathtaking views.

Front facade design enhanced with modern landscaping

Tucked just a stone throw away from the Indian Ocean, overlooking amazing golf courses, and amidst residential houses, QL House boasts of fabulous views from both exterior and interior thanks to the ingenious architects from Visioarq who were tasked with creating spatial dynamism between the two spaces.

The front facade design of QL House includes a balanced veranda on one side and a pergola on the other. The modern landscaping, on the other hand, adds a nuclear garden structure that blurs the line between the entire indoors and the outdoor spaces, including a swimming pool, sunroom, and a garden. Interestingly, the main entrance is through an intriguing door with white concrete wall formalizing the spaces. Read next: Sliding Glass Wall Used for Remarkable Indoor-Outdoor Connection

And that’s how the architects wanted to dazzle the client. “The project was structured primarily with the goal of valuing the relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces, the creation of complicities between the user and the landscape, and the former with the created space” states the lead architect.

Materials for modern front facade

When it comes to the materials for the front facade design, the designers certainly did a bang-up job. With hot weather of this part of Portugal in mind, they leveraged white concrete for the walls to formalize the spaces and follow in the footsteps of other houses in the region. More than that, the architects used natural cork lining, “a traditional Portuguese material [to] articulated the connection between the space and the land.” Read next: The Best Exterior House Design Ideas

The use of motorized metallic shutters and slats in the bedrooms filter light and marry the indoor and the surrounding landscape, adding more style, elegance, and modern appeal to the whole house.

“The bedrooms, on the first floor, face the surrounding green landscape, and take advantage of the terrace on the roof of the living room and summer kitchen in order to create areas for contemplation on the top floor, “ adds the lead architect.

Sometimes, your home needs only one little detail to become breathtaking residence. Take a look how architects used sliding glass wall to turn this modern home into masterpiece.

A work of ingenuity and world-class design, LB Home by Shachar – Rozenfeld architects is a prime example of how to utilize sliding glass wall to create a seamless flow between the indoor and the outdoor living spaces.

In the past decade or so, we’ve seen increased use of large expanses of glass in modern homes to make interior living spaces look and feel bigger, brighter, and airier. This fresh design approach that creatively brings together Cedarwood, electrical vertical louvers and glass at its best is poised to transform the modern home idea into something that’ll feel cozy yet gorgeous and functional when occupied. More than that, a sliding glass wall design offers an unobstructed, wide-open view of the natural environment. (Speaking of wide-open views of the natural environment – the “most minimalist house ever designed” is a must see!)

This modern home showcases how sliding glass walls are ideal for creating a strong connection between a house and its surrounding, creating an effortless flow between a living room and a patio with swimming pool. The result is fresh-looking and well-lit interiors and breathtaking, unobstructed views of the natural landscapes.

Sliding Glass Wall Creating Unique Home Experience

Tucked in a narrow trapezoid-shaped lot adjacent to a lush green public park dotted with ancient Eucalyptus trees, LB Home boast of inviting private garden. To create a unique interior-outdoor connection, the team at Shachar – Rozenfeld architects installed vitrines throughout the interiors of the house. Even better, the design disconnects the vitrines from the columns, enabling optimal openness to the outdoors — patio and swimming pool.

By incorporating walls of gorgeous glass in the design, the architects married well the private gardens and the neighboring park. More importantly, the bedrooms’ and living room’s glass corners are devoid of any constructive elements, offering unmatched access to the garden and creating a contemporary, elegant appeal.

Breathtaking Home With Stunning Modern Features

With a floor area of 600 square meters, the floor plans are not only open but also flow from the interiors to the outdoors without much hassle. Apart from the magnificent sliding glass wall design, LB Home also comes packed with plenty of other modern house styles, amenities, and fixtures. The facades are coated in sophisticated Cedarwood, and the modern black kitchen is fitted with the latest appliances, granite countertops, and fantastic cabinetry. It also boasts of a fascinating staircase and a lit up path leading to the entrance. See another sliding glass wall design example in this beautiful house; Nettleton 198 by SAOTA!

Best of all, the house itself is intricately “designed in an ‘L’ shape to wrap around the swimming pool, facing the public park,” adds Roy Harel, the Project Manager.

Say goodbye to wooden floors, and say hello to fabulous glass floor designs. Up until a few years ago, walking on a glass floor was not only unheard of but also quite dangerous and scary. With breakthroughs in glass-making technologies, however, that’s a thing of the past.

Glass floors in today’s houses are a smart solution for darkest parts of a home, where daylight reach isn’t sufficient. They can also be utilized as attractive focal points or to show something fascinating below the house, such as an ocean view, aquarium, waterfall or art collection. If done correctly, a glass floor design can completely transform the ambiance of a home.

This modern apartment shows how glass floor design can be infused beautifully into the interiors, making it an excellent feature for ultra-modern homes. More specifically, the design showcases how glass floors can be leveraged not only to spruce up dark living spaces and turn them into a bright oasis but also add a touch of modern and fresh appeal to the interior design.

Modern Apartment With Attic Space

The brainchild of architects Ion Popusoi and Bogdan Preda, this snazzy modern apartment building is nestled on Cetatuia Street, overlooking the historical center of the city of Brașov, Romania. With a breathtaking panoramic mountain views, it is not hard to see why the site was chosen. The design of the 6 apartments and 2 lofts flow effortlessly from room to room, and interior to exterior thanks to the bang-up job the designers and architects did.

When the client contracted Ion Popusoi + Bogdan Preda, they wanted a compact, ultra-luxurious building that exploited and accentuated the captivating aspects of the landscape and site, all while making maximum use of the available space. And the result is simply spectacular. “This led to a compact building, very conscious of the value of the site and of the panoramic views it could offer,” said the director of Engineering Rozini Client Micomis.

Glass bathroom walls are an amazing way to make your apartment look elegant, modern and luxurious. Take a look how SVOYA Studio used simple glass to achieve uniqueness.

In this article, we highlight glass used as a bathroom wall in order to make apartment look bigger, brighter, modern and luxurious.

Glass wall bathrooms are an aesthetic element that adds beauty to any modern styled apartment. The glass walls either come as opaque, translucent or even transparent. In most cases glass wall bathrooms are built as a space saving design element to have glass or open bathroom layouts. There are some incredible points of interest to using them that I would like to mention here.

Firstly, glass requires less space than the conventional brick wall which adds up as a plus point for managing space, as there are numerous limitations while designing the rooms with attached bathrooms for apartments. Also, it acts as an aesthetic element as it makes the room look tasteful and roomy by permitting more natural light as it likewise eliminates the need for using extra electrical lights in the bathroom, thus saving some more money for the owner. It additionally provides an appropriate partition to isolate the shower area from the rest of the space of the bathroom so that the water does not spill on the entire floor, therefore keeping the rest of the area dry which can be used for dressing.

Glass Bathroom Wall

From inception, the SVOYA studio and its team of brilliant architects have done nothing less than to overwhelm spectators with their passion for beautifying homes. Just take a look at the True Apartment, Green Walls apartment or this incredible small apartment, all done by SVOYA studio. This time, they took their good works to Odessa, Ukraine to show yet again what they are capable of. The team comprising of Denis Sokolov, Artem Martynenko, Juliya Martynenko, Tanya Lazovaya, Lera Sokolova, and Anton Sokolov collaborated in embellishing the “Over O” apartment unit which possesses the top floor of the high-rise complex in Odessa.

Due to the radial architecture of the house, the apartment offers a panoramic view of the whole city, as though it hovers above Odessa roofs. The apartment is occupied by a young family with a pet – a beautiful and wayward cat named Kaiju.

The Idea

It is very natural to isolate the bathroom in a bedroom and render it as a space devoid of importance. SVOYA studio architects did something differently. They defied the norms by recognizing the essential role of the bathroom and by making it a centerpiece of the bedroom. With the introduction of a transparent glass bathroom, they inadvertently highlighted the luxurious atmosphere of the space.

As a small space, the glass bathroom benefits directly from the windows in the bedroom by its transparency, thereby balancing practical needs and aesthetics. The glass bathroom connects with the rest of the bedroom space by its continuous use of white textured interior wall cladding.
