What happens when architect removes almost everything from your home and gives you minimalist apartment with only what is essential for day to day living + a small twist? Take a look!

Filip Deslee, a co-founder of Belgium-based design agency Loft4c, created a splendid minimalist apartment in Mortsel, Belgium. Pursuing the agency’s mission to create pure interiors with a twist, Apartment 1418 features a remarkable color scheme, perfect material selection and cleverly planned furniture placement. It is one of those gorgeous modern homes that can teach us a lot about how to declutter a living space through minimalism and its design principles.

In its essence, minimalist design lacks lavish details typical in other styles, therefore the simplicity must be thoroughly planned to avoid empty and cold look. Ultimately, minimalist apartments for rent in Greensboro truly thrive when every element serves its function elegantly. To achieve this, Deslee decided on simple monochrome palette as a decor base and stunning red Gerrit T. Rietveld’s 637 Utrecht armchairs as a focal point. Consequently, this resulted in decluttered, pure, sleek design with a little bit of twist.

According to Deslee, “to achieve its purpose, minimalist interior should not only be beautiful to look at but also fun to live in.” As such, Apartment 1418 could be simply described as a minimal interior for maximal living experience.

KEY TAKEAWAY

When it comes to modern living spaces, removing things doesn’t have to mean removing comfort. This minimalist apartment shows how combination of monochromatic color palette and “less is more” principle results in interior that is beautiful to look at but also fun to live in.

Let’s take a walk through this lovely minimalist apartment and highlight a few creative solutions Filip Deslee delivered for the client.

Black and white living room decor with a twist

This simple design started with a strong colors: a scheme of black, white, and red. Deslee planned to use red as a focal point and surrounded it with neutral materials to avoid overpowering the sparse pops of color, which bring energy and liveliness to the space. Cozy fireplace also demands attention due to its generous square footage and stark black coloring among white walls and lovely hardwood. Custom backlighting highlights artwork and replaces the light lost to this monument. The oval coffee table and area rug subtly define the living room of this minimalist apartment, and are flanked by a black sofa and two bright accent chairs, precisely Gerrit T. Rietveld’s 637 Utrecht armchairs.

HERE’S A TIP:

Black and white (monochrome) interior visually simplifies and declutters interior. When combined with one or two colorful details, it frames truly sophisticated and elegant modern interior design. That could be a chair, a piece of art, maybe sofa or coffee table.

Minimalist apartment design based on monochrome decor

No minimalist apartment is complete without a sleek bank of kitchen cabinets. The lack of knobs and drawer pulls eliminates visual clutter and the juxtaposition of white cabinets with black countertops adds interest without disorder. A feature wall separates the living space from the kitchen. Whitewashed, reclaimed wood surrounds the functional divider, while maintaining an effortless beauty. This allows more workspace within the kitchen as well. Fresh plants and unique light fixtures throughout the apartment add character and ensure the space feels inviting.

This minimalist apartment is not lacking function, alongside the public spaces sits a bedroom and a workspace. The full-length custom shelving placed in office space provides plenty of storage space for books, resources and display of sentimental items. The built-in desk sports a black paint job, while the rest of the office is bright white. Large windows allow stimulating sunlight to flood the space.

Say goodbye to wooden floors, and say hello to fabulous glass floor designs. Up until a few years ago, walking on a glass floor was not only unheard of but also quite dangerous and scary. With breakthroughs in glass-making technologies, however, that’s a thing of the past.

Glass floors in today’s houses are a smart solution for darkest parts of a home, where daylight reach isn’t sufficient. They can also be utilized as attractive focal points or to show something fascinating below the house, such as an ocean view, aquarium, waterfall or art collection. If done correctly, a glass floor design can completely transform the ambiance of a home.

This modern apartment shows how glass floor design can be infused beautifully into the interiors, making it an excellent feature for ultra-modern homes. More specifically, the design showcases how glass floors can be leveraged not only to spruce up dark living spaces and turn them into a bright oasis but also add a touch of modern and fresh appeal to the interior design.

Modern Apartment With Attic Space

The brainchild of architects Ion Popusoi and Bogdan Preda, this snazzy modern apartment building is nestled on Cetatuia Street, overlooking the historical center of the city of Brașov, Romania. With a breathtaking panoramic mountain views, it is not hard to see why the site was chosen. The design of the 6 apartments and 2 lofts flow effortlessly from room to room, and interior to exterior thanks to the bang-up job the designers and architects did.

When the client contracted Ion Popusoi + Bogdan Preda, they wanted a compact, ultra-luxurious building that exploited and accentuated the captivating aspects of the landscape and site, all while making maximum use of the available space. And the result is simply spectacular. “This led to a compact building, very conscious of the value of the site and of the panoramic views it could offer,” said the director of Engineering Rozini Client Micomis.

Clever Glass Floor Design

Glass offers a turnkey design solution in this apartment, from functionality and lighting to interior decoration and everything in-between. The glazed vertical and horizontal surfaces marry well to provide a seamless flow between the landscape and the interior. (see also: “Glass bathroom walls in modern apartment by SVOYA) In the master bedroom floors, for instance, the glass walls open the living rooms to a fantastic city view. The floor-to-ceiling windows go a stretch further to complete the whole setup. Best of all, the glass floor design immerses the stairs and railings in a sea of transparent glass, offering a sense of more space in the living spaces.

Glass bathroom walls are an amazing way to make your apartment look elegant, modern and luxurious. Take a look how SVOYA Studio used simple glass to achieve uniqueness.

In this article, we highlight glass used as a bathroom wall in order to make apartment look bigger, brighter, modern and luxurious.

Glass wall bathrooms are an aesthetic element that adds beauty to any modern styled apartment. The glass walls either come as opaque, translucent or even transparent. In most cases glass wall bathrooms are built as a space saving design element to have glass or open bathroom layouts. There are some incredible points of interest to using them that I would like to mention here.

Firstly, glass requires less space than the conventional brick wall which adds up as a plus point for managing space, as there are numerous limitations while designing the rooms with attached bathrooms for apartments. Also, it acts as an aesthetic element as it makes the room look tasteful and roomy by permitting more natural light as it likewise eliminates the need for using extra electrical lights in the bathroom, thus saving some more money for the owner. It additionally provides an appropriate partition to isolate the shower area from the rest of the space of the bathroom so that the water does not spill on the entire floor, therefore keeping the rest of the area dry which can be used for dressing.

Glass Bathroom Wall

From inception, the SVOYA studio and its team of brilliant architects have done nothing less than to overwhelm spectators with their passion for beautifying homes. Just take a look at the True Apartment, Green Walls apartment or this incredible small apartment, all done by SVOYA studio. This time, they took their good works to Odessa, Ukraine to show yet again what they are capable of. The team comprising of Denis Sokolov, Artem Martynenko, Juliya Martynenko, Tanya Lazovaya, Lera Sokolova, and Anton Sokolov collaborated in embellishing the “Over O” apartment unit which possesses the top floor of the high-rise complex in Odessa.

Due to the radial architecture of the house, the apartment offers a panoramic view of the whole city, as though it hovers above Odessa roofs. The apartment is occupied by a young family with a pet – a beautiful and wayward cat named Kaiju.

The Idea

It is very natural to isolate the bathroom in a bedroom and render it as a space devoid of importance. SVOYA studio architects did something differently. They defied the norms by recognizing the essential role of the bathroom and by making it a centerpiece of the bedroom. With the introduction of a transparent glass bathroom, they inadvertently highlighted the luxurious atmosphere of the space.

As a small space, the glass bathroom benefits directly from the windows in the bedroom by its transparency, thereby balancing practical needs and aesthetics. The glass bathroom connects with the rest of the bedroom space by its continuous use of white textured interior wall cladding.

There are numerous ideas how to decorate apartment out there. But sometimes let is more. And black and white interior design can be all you need.

Translating architectural drawings and ideas into a work of reality can be every shade of tricky, but oozes aesthetic beauty at the end. These designs take time to plan and get all parts perfectly fitted together, and the execution could even take longer time and resources. Speaking of resources, the final jaw dropping result we see is as a result of a combination of different materials, with different shapes and sizes, as well as colour. The material colours used in the interior design are chosen to satisfy a particular taste, and give the apartment a certain designed look and feel that is special. And sometimes minimalist atmosphere of black and white interior design is enough to reach perfection.

When it comes to the apartment’s living room, the application of black and white interior design makes it very bright. This was the concept adopted by the numerous architects around the world. The main wall in the bedroom is made of felt. The same material, felt, is also used in the living room behind the TV table and in the kitchen facade next to the stool chairs. This accentuated the modern feel of the bedroom and whole apartment, albeit with a minimalistic touch of black and white in interior.

When it comes to interior design, there is no shortage of styles to pick from. So many people are seeking ways to redecorate their apartment projects with specific styles in mind, while others are still actively looking for design inspiration.

But there is one particularly popular design theme that inspires people to undertake doing a particular style. That is the elegant and modern industrial interior design.

Diego Revollo is the creator of the simple and elegant Itacolomi 445 apartment. He is in the business of breathing life into new and existing building projects around him. He is a modern industrial interior décor expert who stands out as one of the most prominent figures in the new Brazilian décor industry. The newly fashioned apartment is located at Higienópolis, São Paulo, Brazil. It boasts of charming features that epitomizes modern industrial interior designs used in beautiful open apartments.

How to create elegant and modern industrial interior design in apartment?

The work of bringing this delightful design to life may not have come as easy as many would think. Given a very short time to work, Diego set out to deliver an exquisite apartment that meets the demands of today and continues timelessly over the decades to come. From the ceilings to the walls, Diego Revollo offers a package that presents a sophisticated selection of art and furniture, with balance and great visual effect. (you might want to check out this Scandinavian interior design as well!)

With New York loft air, we start from the exiting, so, from the original architecture of Itacolomi 445, which is the major project asset. With features and outstanding volumes in the façade with guardrails and brises in black, the idea was to replicate these characteristics to the inside, creating a unity between external and internal architecture. In this way we emphasize all metal structure, beams and black frames that stand out in the internal gray box where integration sets the tone in large spaces” – states official press release describing this modern industrial interior design.

Experience the outdoor through warm colors and wooden floor

The first thing that tends to pull people towards this design style is that the design lends itself to the charm and minimalism of authentic modern industrial interior design. The interior was fashioned in such a way for the user to be able to experience the outdoor space/environment without having to be outside. The use of warm colors encouraged the appreciation of the furniture without having to detract from the ‘solemnity’ of the space. In other to satisfy the hunger for a more traditional style, the interior decorator deployed the use of wooden floor to express the naturalness of the interior. (see more of industrial interior design in this modern apartment by SVOYA!)

The second attraction to this apartment is its location – situated in the neighborhood that concentrates some of the main postcards of São Paulo architecture. It gives great opportunity for those who want to do everything on foot, like taking a stroll in Piazza Buenos Aires to dine in one of the coolest restaurants in the neighborhood.

Wood in interior design is something we all see very often, but it’s rarely done as good as in this modern apartment.

There is something beautiful and enthralling about awesome architectural designs when laid out by architects. But having such pieces implemented can have individuals rooted to the spot and gazing with mouth agape in admiration.  It is worthy of note to understand that besides the ingenuity of the architect, a whole lot of materials go into totally transforming the interiors of apartments, such as using wood in interior design.

The Barcelona apartment created by the very creative architects of ARRCC completely shows the beauty of wood in interior design. The aesthetic beauty creates a feel of an Afro-contemporary environment making apartments very cozy and comfortable. The ARRCC architectural team is based in Cape Town, South Africa. (don’t forget to check out this amazing house in South Africa as well!)

Interior design for entertainment and family life

Although achieving an African look and feel was the aim while still maintaining the aesthetic beauty of modern apartments, the vibrant Barcelona culture fuels the inspiration. With a complete blend of raw wood mixed with metals, suede and high-gloss surfaces to create a captivating experience and look.

The interior design as evidenced in the floor plan makes the apartment adequate for both entertainment and family life, with the efficient utilisation of space. Majority of the rooms showcase very rich texture and polished raw materials to give the Afro-contemporary feel. As for wood used in interior design, the rooms are not without a touch of stained oak wood. The use of darker woods also helped bring the Afro-contemporary feel to life.

Masculine colours and darker wood in interior design provide clues to the African rhythms

The dining boasts a feature timber ceiling which runs down the rear of the dining table. It made the single difference of highlighting the client’s important artwork.  The streamlined elements of textured wood and charcoal stone found in the kitchen, with dark woods wrapping into the wall, shows the beauty of wood in interior design and in creating an Afro-contemporary environment in an apartment.

Even the architects understand how tricky it is to create such masterpiece, and ARRCC director had this to say, “From an interior designer’s perspective, what may be trouble-free to the eye came with great complexity, we had to adhere to elements of the original plan including a historical hexagon-shaped central courtyard. Our solution to this tricky shape was to open the design up and reflect elements of this shape throughout the apartment.

The details of every part of the apartment where designed to captivate and enthral. This goes to show how much planning is put into every detail by the very professional ARRCC team of architects.

Apartment decorating ideas are always welcome, but specially when they come from an interior designer like this incredible woman. Take a look how to make your apartment look incredible using only 3 colors.

Alexandra Fedorova, a very talented interior designer from Russia showed us many gorgeous apartment decorating ideas through her work published here on Architecture Beast. Just take a look at this elegant apartment overlooking the Moscow, or this stunning luxury apartment design for a pianist. And definitely my favorite, 20 small bedroom ideas, all from Alexandra!

Alexandra’s apartment decorating ideas

This time, we are gonna see a 200 square meters apartment in Zelenograd, a city located 37 km from the center of Moscow. This apartment simply breathes with elegance. White walls, ceilings, floors and furniture are together creating calm and relaxing atmosphere, looking so pure and minimalist. Modern living room is a central place in the apartment. Brown floor-to-ceiling curtains lifted up the atmosphere a bit, along with brown carpet by the couch. Black coffee table, floor lamp and an eye-catching black chair are here to break the monotony.

Minimalism and elegance

Combination of white and brown color continues into the kitchen. Minimalist approach took the usual chaos out of this room and made it look incredibly clean and organized. Long bottom cabinets eliminated the need for overhead cabinets usually seen in the kitchen, leaving this stunning brown stone at display. Beautiful bedrooms are kept in the same tone, with occasional indoor plant being the focal point of the room.

How do you like this apartment? Have you picked up any good decorating ideas? I definitely love the combination of 3 colors, white, brown and black. They make apartment look sophisticated, luxury and elegant. Let me know in the comment section below!

How to decorate a small apartment – knowledge by Fimera https://architecturebeast.com/how-to-decorate-a-small-apartment-by-fimera/ https://architecturebeast.com/how-to-decorate-a-small-apartment-by-fimera/#respond Tue, 26 Apr 2016 13:00:47 +0000 https://architecturebeast.com/?p=1842 The post How to decorate a small apartment – knowledge by Fimera appeared first on Architecture Beast.

How many times have you dreamed of redecorating your small apartment? You might want to do it even more after you see this beautiful small studio apartment.

Fimera Design gave us some pretty nice ideas how to decorate a small apartment with this studio apartment located in Sofia, a capital of Bulgaria. (you can see more of their small apartment design knowledge here!)

Studio apartment design

Feel free to drop your plans about buying the penthouse! This suburban apartment is perfect example that even the smallest living spaces can become incredibly comfortable, beautiful and even luxury looking. Even though there’s no physical barriers which would separate different rooms, designers from Fimera studio managed to separate different living spaces with minimalist furniture which took the focus of off itself. Small modern living room is pushed back while space that connects it with the kitchen is used as a dining room.

Decorating a studio apartment

Beautiful contrast in decoration is achieved with bright ceilings and floors, while walls are painted in dark brown. Wooden details on modern and minimalist furniture fulfills the atmosphere. To “kill” the monotony and sterile feeling, designers placed colorful focal points in almost every “room”. A simple red couch pillow in the living area, red chandelier in dining area and wooden cabinets in the kitchen. Master bedroom, which is probably the largest room in whole apartment joins in with black bed sheets and night stands. I specially love two modern lamps hanging from the ceiling. It really gives beautiful minimalist touch.

On the question how to decorate a small apartment, designers from Fimera studio responded with minimalism, simplicity and bright colors. What do you think of this design? Apartment decorating can be challenging, specially if you’re working with small living area. But not for this Moscow-based interior designer. Take a look how to decorate apartment with elegance and style!

We are going to experience an apartment decorating with Alexandra Fedorova again! A few days ago, we published article about the room ideas, featuring an incredible luxury apartment she designed for a pianist. This time, we are going to see beautiful apartment she designed in south-west Moscow.

Apartment with the city views

Apartment is located in a 150 m tall residential building with 23 floors. From up there, panoramic views of the Moscow downtown are almost as beautiful as the apartment itself. Living space is divided in two “separated” zones; private area and public area. Upon entering, visitors are allowed to comfortably make themselves feel like home in a specially designed dressing room with the closet. Hallway then leads to the “public” area, imagined as a open space where small modern kitchen, dining room and living room are located. “The kitchen area includes a column area with appliances and cooking area, as well as a central island with a breakfast bar that visually separates the kitchen and dining-living area” – explains Alexandra. On the other hand, “private” area consists three bedrooms; children’s room, study and master bedroom. Atmosphere in the master bedroom was fulfilled with panoramic views of the city.

Apartment decorating and materials

Speaking of materials, often a key element of an apartment decorating, Alexandra did an outstanding work. Kitchen walls are decorated with grey marble which looks like a polished concrete and feels incredible on the touch. Marble was also placed on the kitchen and hallway floors, this time in sand color. Living room floor was given the warm shades of grey color, creating that way atmosphere of tranquility. A focal point of the living room is without any doubt wall decorated with handmade panels of burnished copper. Modern furniture also played important role in apartment decor, specially yellow chair in the living room and incredibly cozy-looking chair in the master bedroom.

How do you like apartment decorating done by Alexandra? Which apartment do you like better; this one or the one we published a few days ago? Let me know in the comment section below! Feel free to continue your journey of decoration inspiration on this elegant apartment focused on small apartment design or here on Scandinavian interior design!

Small apartment and beautiful interior design. Two things we all want to combine the best way possible, but only few manage to actually do it. Take a look how Bulgarian designers created one of the most beautiful small apartment designs I’ve ever seen.

Sofia-based architecture and interior design office Fimera Design Studio recently finished gorgeous small apartment located in Lozenets, a district and residential area located in the southern parts of Sofia, Bulgaria.

Amazing small apartment design ideas

First thing that anyone entering notices is stunning elegance and modern design spreading across every inch of this small apartment. “Front” area of this small apartment consists beautiful kitchen which extends to modern living room. Central space is being used as a dining “room”. Kitchen itself has so much going on. But not in a chaotic way, but sleek elegant contrasty way. From incredible dark blue walls with decorative wooden panels, minimalist furniture featuring white and wooden elements, to central kitchen island with attention grabbing yellow chairs and two spotlight lamps. Simply amazing interior design. (Need more room ideas? See how Alexandra Fedorova designed stunning luxury apartment!)

Living room brings daylight into the apartment through large windows “hidden” behind the floor-to-ceiling curtains. The “L” shaped sofa opens the space towards the central area where dining table is placed. Take notes folks; designers from Fimera Design Studio showed us how to literally create a third room inside two rooms! It is indeed perfect idea for small apartments.

Minimalism and innovative design

Bedroom, which is probably the smallest bedroom I have ever seen, somehow manages to look larger than it is. The secret is obviously in minimalist furniture and bold geometric wallpaper print which immediately attracts your attention. Two modern wall lamps almost eliminated the need for night stands. Still, designers used two contemporary wooden stands to fill the space right next to bed. Minimalism at its best!

Bathoom design continues from bedroom with beautiful blue, grey and white tile pattern on the wall. And the best space usage “award” goes to shower which seems to be placed almost above the toilet. No physical shower? Amazing!

I sure love this small apartment design and ideas that designers from Fimera studio managed to pull here. What do you think? How do you like this shower idea? Let me know in the comment section below! Feel free to check out this small apartment with modern interior design by SVOYA next!
